Former Biamp president and CEO Ralph Lockhart passes away
Published: ASIA
WORLD: Biamp Systems’ former president and CEO Ralph Lockhart has passed away at his home in Maui. Mr Lockhart was the president of Biamp for 24 years before retiring in 2010.
Mr Lockhart led the company through its transition as a manufacturer of analogue live sound products to its current state as a manufacturer of DSP-based audio products. Biamp stated that he ‘is remembered for his keen wit, sharp business sense, big personality, good humour, and as a collector of volumes of useless information. His storytelling abilities were renowned, and his folksy demeanour was humble and genuine owing back to his Midwestern roots’.
Biamp added that Mr Lockhart’s legacy ‘is rooted in the hearts of those people he met. He believed that the true value of a business was in its people, not its things. He was a student of, and a developer of people. Everyone in the Biamp community is saddened by Ralph’s passing, but we also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived.’
No funeral or memorial services will be held. Instead, Mr Lockhart’s wife JB will ensure that his ashes are scattered in all of his favourite places around the world.
Donations may be made to Hospice Maui, an organisation that both Mr Lockhart and JB were grateful to. The contact information is: Hospice Maui, 400 Mahalani Street, Wailuku, Maui. HI 96793, 808-244-5555.
