PHILIPPINES: Quezon City-based rental specialist Forsc Ink has become the first company in south-east Asia to purchase Wisycom wireless systems from the Italian manufacturer’s recently appointed distributor UniAudio Asia. The systems are being used by Philippines broadcaster ABS-CBN for a reality show named Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition.
Founded 25 years ago and described by UniAudio Asia as the Philippines’ largest supplier of sound and lighting equipment, Forsc Ink serves a broad variety of market segments within the country from society weddings to large-scale events and broadcasting applications.
The company now possesses 40-channels of Wisycom systems including both MRK950 rack-mount dual-channel receivers and MCR42 dual true-diversity camera-mount receivers. MTP30 body-pack transmitters are also included plus a Wisycom antenna-system.
The decision to purchase the Wisycom equipment was made by Forsc Ink’s owner, Philip Santos. ‘Since this competitive industry has demanded for an upgrade of our existing products, we decided to innovate with Wisycom,’ he explained, adding a note of approval for UniAudio Asia itself: ‘The people behind this newly formed company have been among our most trusted distributors through the years. With much experience in the industry, I am rest assured that products produced by them are of a good quality.’
Regarding the use of the Wisycom systems by ABS-CBN, Mr Santos continued: ‘Forsc Ink has long been one of ABS-CBN's suppliers when it comes to lighting and sound, and having this honour, we are always in search of the most innovative products to fit their demands. With much confidence in what Wisycom could offer, we introduced it for Junior MasterChef.
‘We have held a series of demonstrations of the system, while during the actual set-up Wisycom staff have been hands-on with the installation. We have received a lot of good feedback in terms of the product's flexibility and performance.’
Based on a British television format, Junior MasterChef is a cooking game show where contestants aged between eight and 12 compete. It will be the first TV show in south-east Asia to use Wisycom products for broadcast.
