Gearhouse Broadcast uses Bel Digital for Australian Open Tennis

AUSTRALIA: Gearhouse Broadcast recently purchased 52 Bel Digital Audio 3G HD compatible BM-A1-2SHD audio monitors/de-embedders and used them for the HD coverage of the 2012 Australian Open tennis championship in Melbourne.

The newly purchased units were used in conjunction with Gearhouse Broadcast’s current stock of the 2RU Bel boxes to provide all the audio monitoring throughout the entire facility for the event.

As the host broadcaster, the company provided the technical facilities for Channel 7 (which included TV coverage from seven courts), the ‘world feed’ and Channel 7’s independent facilities. Gearhouse Broadcast also provided independent facilities to ESPN and Tennis Channel from the USA, and to tennis Australia for its delivery to various platforms.

The BM-A1-2SHD unit was said to be ‘particularly suited’ to the company’s requirements due to its compact 1U size. All available functions were accessible directly from the front panel via rotary controls, making operation simple for operators.
