Grass Valley appoints China GM

CHINA: US-based video specialist Grass Valley has named Robert Song as its new general manager for China. Alongside his new position, Mr Song will continue to serve in his previous role as sales director of desktop and professional channels for the Asia Pacific region.

Boasting more than 15 years of experience in the broadcast and professional A/V industries, Mr Song joined Grass Valley in 2005 during the company’s acquisition of Canopus. In his new role he will be based in Beijing, overseeing the manufacturer’s activities in China whilst ‘redefining and realigning’ its distribution model.

‘China is a very important market for Grass Valley and I will work to improve the experience for our new and existing customers by offering the best products and services,’ Mr Song commented. ‘My overall goal is to expand market share and strengthen Grass Valley’s position across China.’
