Griven lights up Federation Square

AUSTRALIA: Recognised as one of the biggest architectural complexes in the world, Melbourne’s Federation Square opened in 2001 to commemorate the centenary of the Federation while providing the city with a new cultural and entertainment centre. Located in the heart of the square, The Atrium has been illuminated from within using fixtures from Griven. The project was specified for and installed by the manufacturer’s authorised Australian distributor, ULA.
The square, which can accommodate up to 15,000 people, rises with a slight slope above the street level, offering a panoramic view of the City and Yarra river, and converging upon two major public spaces – two open squares (St Paul's Court and The Square) and one covered (The Atrium). The Atrium is a five-storey-high building with glazed walls and roof supported by an exposed and eye-catching honeycomb metal structure.
The Atrium now features a colour-changing lighting scheme performed by an array of Griven Powershine MK2 D fixtures in an RGBW configuration that ‘enhances the three-dimensional depth of the structure with a lively and dynamic colour succession’.
