Guangzhou Performance Theater installs DAS Audio

CHINA: The prestigious Performance Theater in Guangzhou, Guandong has been supplied with a DAS Audio front of house system in an installation intended to provide a ‘punchy’ system capable of conveying theatrical sound effects in the most realistic manner possible while still delivering high speech intelligibility and without compromising the venue’s ornate interior.
The completed system comprises 16 DAS Audio Aero 12A powered, two-way, mid-high line array modules which are flown eight elements per side. Compact 218 Sub subwoofers are ground-stacked in a left-right configuration to provide low-end support while Compact 2 powered, three-way, mid-high enclosures are deployed as front-fills. Augmenting the main FOH system meanwhile are six SML-15A powered, two-way stage monitors/full-range units, which have been configured as surround-fills to give the audience a sense of being in a 3D sound sphere.
The installation comes as part of a continued drive for the DAS brand within the broader Asian region, led by the loudspeaker manufacturer’s Singapore and Hong Kong-based offices. ‘DAS Audio and its various business partners are very encouraged by the recent events that have led to a number of DAS system deployments,’ enthused Asia business operations manager Eduardo Lopez. ‘I’m confident the business climate and the opportunities for our company will continue to expand.’
