GV City Square installed with Crestron control system

SINGAPORE: The GV City Square cinema in Singapore has been equipped with a new Crestron control system, enabling all necessary equipment to be centrally controlled.
Crestron’s compact control system with Ethernet (CP2E) lies at the heart of GV’s efforts to centrally manage the entire multiplex’s digital equipment, while completely integrating A/V and automating its management. A number of wireless tablet interfaces allow cinema managers to have a dashboard overview of the real-time status of their digital projectors, while a wireless single-point management tablet allows them to control the digital equipment, such as digital projectors, lighting and movie-playing servers and amplifiers from anywhere in the cinema.
‘This new installation of Crestron’s control system is an ideal example of creative problem-solving in a cinema environment,’ said Edmund Chan, country manager of Crestron Asia. ‘We are proud to support GV’s breakthrough initiative that revolutionises digital cinema in Singapore and Asia.’
‘Crestron’s control system increases management efficiency and reduces the manpower needed to effectively manage a leading-edge multiplex, while allowing real-time control from anywhere in the cinema,’ added Lee Kin Guan, head of digital systems and innovation at Golden Village. ‘Overall, the state-of-the-art equipment allows us to do more with a lot less.’
To commemorate the successful launch of the Crestron system, Crestron Asia recently organised a cocktail reception and movie screening of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which used Dolby’s Theatre Management System (TMS) software.
Approximately 40 representatives from Crestron’s dealers and partners in Singapore were invited to attend, and key executives used the event as a platform to thank dealers for their long-term support.
