Harman India fills executive roles

INDIA: Harman India has filled two key roles under senior director of India operations David McKinney. Prashant Govindan is now sales director of the professional division while Karan Kathuria has been named national sales manager for installed sound, reporting to Mr Govindan.
Mr Govindan now reports directly to David McKinney whilst working closely with global sales teams. He is described by Harman India as a ‘seasoned professional in the A/V industry’ and boasts more than 12 years experience in the industry. He previously worked for Biamp as regional manager for India, the Middle East and Africa, and as country manager for Architectural Audio (India) Pvt Ltd.
In his new role the sales director will focus on strategy, revenue growth and leading sales efforts across India. Karan Kathuria, meanwhile, is described as having ‘successfully led significant projects in hospitality industry within the installed sound segment’ over the last year.
‘We are excited to have Prashant on board and value the rich and varied industry experience that he adds to our management team,’ commented Mr McKinney. ‘Karan on the other hand will add greater value to his role in installed sound, and build on the significant traction that we have witnessed in this segment.’
In a further appointment, Ankush Agarwal has been promoted to become director of marketing and business development, supported by business development manager Ashish Bajaj.
