Harman moves Korean distribution to TechData Co Ltd

KOREA: Harman Professional is to move its South Korean distribution of JBL, Crown, Soundcraft, dbx, Lexicon, BSS, and AKG to TechData Co Ltd, a company from outside of the audio industry primarily focusing on Microsoft-based IT and security solutions. The change in sales and support, which does not affect either Studer or Martin Professional, will become effective on October 1st.
In a short statement to the press Harman Professional stated that it is ‘working closely with its incumbent distributor, Sovico Corp, to ensure a smooth transition’, adding that it ‘appreciates the professionalism exhibited by Sovico Corp during this transition and wishes Sovico the best of success in their future endeavours’.
Led by highly respected industry elder and CEO KS Kwon, Sovico Corp is arguably the largest and most influential distributor in the South Korean pro audio industry, having represented JBL Professional in the country since 1979. The company recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
