Harman Pro distribution passed to Basao Investment Co Ltd

VIETNAM: Harman Professional has appointed Basao Investment Co Ltd as its Vietnamese distributor with immediate effect. The new supplier takes over from Hanoi-based Vistar Company.
Basao Investment Co Ltd is a newly formed distribution company headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City with satellite offices in Hanoi and Da Nang, and headed by managing director Nguyen Khac Ang. All Harman Pro brands – AKG, BSS, Crown, dbx, JBL Professional, Lexicon, Soundcraft and Studer - will be exclusively sold and supported via the new distributor’s dealer network. Most of the company’s 20 personnel – reportedly comprising industry veterans with experience in recording, broadcasting and live production – have already received training at Harman Pro’s regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
‘We are now correctly positioned to benefit from the economic growth happening in Vietnam,’ explained Mr Khac Ang. ‘As we only distribute Harman Pro brands, we can concentrate on promoting them for key projects and installations such as the upcoming hotels and resorts.’
The managing director added that the company’s sales network ‘consists of approximately 200 dealers nationwide, but we also work directly with key systems integrators and consultants. We’re also very well positioned in the cinema business with JBL speakers and Crown amplifiers.’
South Asian regional sales director Rodney Houston was responsible for overseeing the transition between distributors and describes himself as impressed by the levels of expertise that Basao Investment Co Ltd has exhibited. ‘I’m under no illusions with regards to the technical expertise of the team here, in addition to their extensive relationships within the Vietnamese market. We’re really enjoying working together at the moment and see great potential in our future business relationship,’ he enthused.
