Harman supports Xian International Horticultural Exposition

CHINA: JBL sound reinforcement is being used to make up the audio system for one of the central exhibits of the 2011 International Horticultural Exposition, which is taking place until October in the ancient Chinese city of Xi’an.
Taking the theme ‘Green leads the trend’ and advocating a low-carbon lifestyle, the International Horticultural Exposition is expected to attract 12 million visitors across its 178 days. The Expo – following in the tradition of the 2010 Shanghai Expo – is sited on Guangyun Lake (a major port in ancient China) at the bank of Chan-Ba (known as ‘Bashang’), covering a total area of 418 hectares, 188 hectares of which is water-based.
The Harman equipment is being used for a grand water-based attraction. Included in the system are six JBL PD5322 full range enclosures, five concealed SRX-712M boxes and four SRX-728S subwoofers. A further 17 Control 29AV full-range cabinets are located throughout the audience area as fills while the entire system is powered by Crown XTi amplifiers. A 16-channel Soundcraft LX-9 analogue console has been supplied for mixing.
Xi’an is one of the oldest settlements in China, dating back some 3,100 years. The International Horticultural Exposition is being staged in Chanba, a new district of the city.
