Hayaco conferencing system serves Sejong City Council

KOREA: A 2.4GHz Hayaco WSM digital conference system has been installed into the main chamber and conference room of Sejong City Council, which officially opened in July 2012. According to Hayaco, the system is intended to provide a ‘reliable and efficient solution’ for the council.

Sejong is a planned city located between Daejeon, Cheonan and Cheongju, and named after 15th Century monarch Sejong the Great, considered the creator of the Korean alphabet. Intended to become an administrative centre for the country whilst also relieving overcrowding in Seoul, the city’s creation has not been without controversy. Yet in July 2012 its administrative capital opened, with a total of 36 government agencies now planning to move there by 2015. It is also intended to become a centre of research, education, and technology.

The Hayaco installation represents one of the Korean manufacturer’s highest profile projects yet, encompassing WSM-240C and WSM-240D discussion units alongside a main WSM controller unit. The controller itself can also be used with a PC to deliver management options including automatic camera tracking, integration with the building’s Crestron system, and the automatic display of voting results on the council chamber’s main monitor alongside the production of a PowerPoint file.

Meanwhile, another WSM system has been installed within the Seoul Metropolitan Integrated Safety Center (SMISC), which coordinates fire and rescue services within the South Korean capital. Newly located in Seoul’s City Hall, the Center has acquired a full WSM system including a controller and discussion units for its emergency meeting rooms
