HHB and Mogami donate 5000 to the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal

WORLD: UK-based distributor HHB Communications and Japanese cable manufacturer Mogami have jointly donated £5,000 to the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal. The donation was marked by a special presentation at IBC 2011, which saw HHB managing director Ian Jones hand over a cheque to Mogami president of sales Lew Hirabayashi.

HHB first pledged to donate 10 per cent of the proceeds of all of its Mogami sales up until IBC when it was named as a distributor for the Japanese manufacturer in May of this year. The pledge was intended to reflect both company’s commitment to supporting Japan following the tragic events of March 2011, when the country was struck by a devastating earthquake and tsunami.

‘We are delighted to help our friends, industry colleagues and all the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan with this donation,’ commented Mr Jones following the presentation. ‘Our partnership with Mogami has already been a great success and we know that the money we are donating will be put to good use by the Red Cross.’

Mogami’s Mr Hirabayashi added: ‘We are very grateful to be able to present this cheque to the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal. Our partnership with HHB has been beneficial to both parties and we are happy to support the people affected by the earthquake and help rebuild a great and essential part of Japan.’
