Hx Pro Sounds and Lights adds SD7 to inventory

PHILIPPINES: Manila-based Hx Pro Sounds and Lights recently purchased an SD7 large format digital desk following the earlier purchase of an SD8. The desk was supplied by Joint Venture, DiGiCo’s distributor in the Philippines, and marked the company’s seventh sale of an SD series console in less than a year.

Hx Pro Sounds and Lights Rex Maliuanag stressed that prior to his decision to opt for DiGiCo, the rental house ‘compared all the major digital consoles.’ He continued: ‘For a mid-sized console, I believe that the SD8 is the best buy. It’s so powerful, very easy to work around and is perfect for both FOH and monitor use. We really like the fact that the board is so configurable.’

Regarding the SD7 purchase, he explained: ‘we wanted to be ahead of the game. Without bias, the SD7 is easier to use, takes up less space and is more powerful than other large format boards. Having the same operating format as the SD8, it didn’t take much time to understand the SD7.’

While the company’s SD8 has been used on a wide range of productions, including live music and television shows, at both the FOH and monitor positions, the SD7 was first used for the recording of Pilipinas Got Talent, the local version of the global television franchise, recording for which took place throughout January and February. The SD7 was used as the main FOH console, running 112 channels with recording via MADI.

To date, Joint venture has sold five SD8s, an SD7 and an SD9 into the Filipino market.
