I-Beam Bar doubles its DAS for one-year anniversary

MALAYSIA: Search Music Sdn Bhd recently completed a DAS Audio sound reinforcement installation at the 1,500-capacity I-Beam Bar in Batu Pahat, Johor. Having already invested in DAS some six months before, owners decided to double its inventory in time for its one-year anniversary.
Dennix Yeow, managing director of Search Music, worked closely with DAS Audio Asia systems engineer Ron Koh on the systems design and set up. The biggest challenge for the sound technicians was the venue size, being that is has a 27m by 24m main area with ceiling heights ranging between 5m and 6m, making it difficult to achieve an even, solid coverage throughout the entire bar.
To meet this challenge, four new Aero 8A units were added to I-Beam’s eight existing units, bring the total to 12 Aero 8As flown in equal clusters per side. Eight compact, full-range Avant 15A systems were added to the mix as delay-fills.
Sound techs also opted to boost the low frequency support, adding additional LX-218CA systems for a total of eight units set up in a typical left-right configuration. Meanwhile, four new Avant 12A systems serve as DJ monitors and four Action M12As as stage monitors. Avant 118As handle side-fill, and the system was rounded out with a DSP-2060 and DSP-4080 digital signal processor.
‘I am very happy with this system, it really performs very well every night,’ enthused the owner of I-Beam Bar. ‘I’m glad to see how the customers enjoy music to the full.’
