IBC hosts Stagetec On Air 24 launch

IBC: The On Air 24 radio broadcast console launched at the IBC 2010 exhibition at the weekend, drawing crowds to the booth of manufacturer Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup.
The self-operated console comprises compact fader panels, each with four faders, plus a monitor panel. The launch marked the first time that the console had been seen fully installed in a desk.
Based on Stagetec’s Nexus audio router, the On Air 24 is described by the manufacturer as similar to its popular Auratus compact mixing console, while its interface has been designed ‘specifically to ensure quick and accurate operation’. The Nexus system is used to provide the I/O interfaces while also acting as a host to the mixing-console processing board.
Stagetec Asia managing director David Chan was on hand for the launch alongside senior sales manager for Asia Advon Tan. ‘This will create a very big impact in the radio market and also in TV news,’ predicted Mr Tan. ‘The console is ideal for somebody who is looking for more of a network system than standalone. It’s had a good response so far because people can find features that they don’t normally see in on air consoles such as layering and quick assigns. It’s catering for the future.’
