Iconic Sydney hotel reborn with Bosch brands

AUSTRALIA: Bosch brands have been used to relaunch one of Sydney’s most iconic venues, with Electro Voice loudspeakers and Dynacord amplifiers assisting the return of the Dee Why Hotel after a three-year closure.
Described as one of the most exciting venue launches on Sydney’s northern beaches last year, the audio side of reopening the Dee Why Hotel was overseen by Saltec, who designed, supplied and installed the Bosch equipment. According to Saltec managing director Greg de Vries, the design was simply ‘right for their requirement. Unlike some audiovisual integrators, we are not biased to any particular brand – we believe that we should provide our client with the best and the most economical solution for their particular application.’
Fulfilling that requirement are 10 Electro Voice ZX1T surface mount speakers in the main bar and lounge area, while the VIP rooms are equipped with four pairs of Evid 4.2T surface mount speakers. The venue’s gaming area has Evid 3.2T surface mount speakers, while 10 EV C8.2 ceiling speakers are located in the main bistro together with two pairs of Evid 3.2T speakers in the serving area. Elsewhere, Bosch BCS-CS and LC3100 ceiling speakers were installed for BGM and announcements. A total of three Dynacord DSA8405 amplifiers power the entire system.
Mark Bayfield, general manager of Bayfield Hotels, has been impressed with both Saltec and the Bosch products installed into his venue. ‘Saltec do all our hotel work and I find them very reliable,’ he remarked. ‘In particular I like the way in which they design to our needs. We work as a team and they understand our business. In this instance, the EV speakers have been really good – they give us clarity the right level of volume needed.’
