Indonesias SCTV Awards sees Vista 5 debut

INDONESIA: Surabaya-based rental specialist Melodia recently supplied a Studer Vista 5 SR to mix front of house sound for the telecast of the 2011 SCTV Awards, hosted by South Jarkarta’s Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV). The event marked one of the first uses of the desk, which was recently acquired by Melodia owner Rudy Winarto in an effort ‘take his business to a higher level’.
SCTV is a longterm user of Studer consoles having previously deployed them for the annual SCTV Awards ceremony, though the 2011 event marked the Vista 5’s debut. ‘When the producers found out that Melodia Rental had just obtained a Studer Vista 5 SR, they were eager to see how it would perform,’ explained Harman’s Yee Tat Nam.
Manning the console at the event was FOH engineer Dien Anugrah, who was enthusiastic about the desk’s performance. ‘I fell in love with the Vista 5 after using it for just one day,’ he commented. ‘Its sound quality is outstanding – it’s so warm and clean. The mic preamps are especially well suited for live broadcast. The Vista 5’s control layout enabled me to operate the console with almost no learning curve.’
He concluded: ‘I look forward to using the Vista 5 again in upcoming events. It really is designed with people like me in mind, who need a great sounding, reliable console they can depend on day in and day out.’
