Internal promotions bolster Meyer Sound support services

WORLD: Meyer Sound has promoted the former head of its design services department, Michael Creason, to the newly created position of product manager – system applications and training. The move is intended to bolster the manufacturer’s growing product management team with an expansion in its technical content and training resources. Additionally, Ashley Hanson has been promoted to the design services manager role.
Mr Creason joined the Meyer Sound design services department in 2008, following years of theatrical sound design and mixing experience both on and off Broadway. In addition to credits including The Pajama Game and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, he was audio supervisor for the Glimmerglass Opera Festival for eight seasons.
‘In my design services work, I have developed a profound appreciation for the input our users bring from their challenges in the field,’ he commented. ‘I look forward to working even more closely with them in developing effective technical resources that help them achieve better results.’
Ms Hanson’s theatrical credits include serving as associate sound designer on Broadway productions including The Book of Mormon, American Idiot, and Impressionism. In her new management role she takes charge of a design team working with audio consultants and systems integrators across a broad range of markets. Her work with the manufacturer to date has touched on key projects internationally such as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Houston Airport and Seoul’s Megabox cinema.
‘Every day is an exciting new day at Meyer Sound,’ enthused Ms Hanson. ‘One moment you’re helping to improve intelligibility for a church, and the next you’re working on a system for a theme park soundscape or for the Atmos cinema format. Regardless of the project, it’s gratifying to know you’re helping the audience appreciate a show or a film as it is intended to be heard.’
