Iosono boosts the 3D experience at BlueCap mixing stage

KOREA: Iosono has equipped Korean-based BlueCap’s mixing stage with an Iosono sound system. This is reportedly the first Iosono 3D sound mixing stage in Asia.
The sound studio now features a Spatial Audio Processor IPC 100 and a Spatial Audio Workstation, which will be used for movie postproduction and film sound design.
‘BlueCap chose Iososo because the movie market in Korea is saturated,’ said Iosono’s Katja Lehmann. ‘3D films are hugely successful for the movie industry, but even 3D movies like Avatar are still produced in 5.1 or 7.1 sound,’ she explained.
BlueCap investigated the most useful and suitable 3D sound solutions, before selecting Iosono equipment. ‘This is because it offers a flexible and smart software that offers a lot of creative freedom for the sound mixing process,’ said Ms Lehmann. ‘Engineers enjoy working with the system a lot, and BlueCap said that any engineer who is experienced with conventional DAWs could operate the Iosono system perfectly within a short time.
‘We are very proud to be currently equipping the first Iosono sound systems into cinemas in Korea and China,’ added Ms Lehmann. ‘The Asian market is very important for us, as a lot is happening and a lot of innovation is taking place there right now’.
The BlueCap team is currently working on a Korean film called My Way using the new Iosono system, which will be released in Korea and China at the end of 2011, and Japan in 2012.
