J Davis provides sound for DJ Tiesto

INDIA: J Davis Prosound & Lighting provided the sound reinforcement system for DJ Tiesto’s recent three-hour set in Bangalore, having provided technical support for the DJ’s concert at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad five years before.
A total of 94 L-Acoustics cabinets were provided by the J Davis Team, comprised of 24 V-Dosc line arrays, 12 Kudo cabinets, 12 DV-Dosc systems, 16 Arcs speakers, 16 SB218 subwoofers, eight SB28 subs, eight SB118 subs and two DV-subs.
Amplification was provided by L-Acoustics’ LA48a and LA8 power amps, which powered the Kudos cabinets, SB118s and SB28s. Meanwhile four Dolby Lake LP4D12 digital processors were used for controlling the complete L-Acoustics system, which was tuned with the help of SmaartLive version 7.
A Yamaha PM5D-RH digital console was used at FOH, whilst DJ equipment included Tiesto’s six Pioneer CDJ 2000 CD machines and two Pioneer DJM 900 Nexus mixers. Tiesto used eight DV Doscs with two DV Subs for DJ monitors.
Three Pioneer CDJ 200 CD machines and one Pioneer DJM 900 Nexus mixer were utilised for the opening acts, as were two Martin Audio LE1500 wedges with two QSC KW-181 active subwoofers.
‘When I did DJ Tiesto at Hyderabad I was really happy to be doing the concert for the number one DJ, but it was always my dream to be able to support such an act in my home town – I couldn’t ask for anything more than this,’ said J Davis Prosound & Lighting’s Santana Davis.

A total of 24 Elation Platinum Beam 5Rs were provided for the show, as were 16 Cyan 8000 XE LED moving head washes, 20 Acme strobes, eight 2,500W Studio Due City Colour fixtures, 12 4 Lite Molefay 'audience blinders', four Look Haze machines, one Pearl Expert lighting console and one Chamsys lighting console (from Tiesto’s crew). Two 16x9 LED Meshes provided FOH left and right LED support.
