Jakarta Japan benefit concert supplied by Sumber Ria

INDONESIA: A recent concert held by Japanese multi-instrumentalist Kitaro saw the international star donate profits from ticket sales to the victims of the earthquake and subsequent tsunami that took place in Japan on March 11th. Rental firm Sumber Ria supplied equipment including Avid Venue Profile consoles into Jakarta’s Plenary Hall for the event.

Kitaro – or Masanori Takahashi – is a native of Tokyo, Japan, though he now resides in the US. Between March and April of this year he donated profits from his Silk Road tour of Asia to the relief effort for the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, alongside donating money from CD sales of his most recent album, the Grammy Award-nominated Sacred Journey of Ku-Kai 1 Vol 4. Approximately one thousand audience members crowded into the Plenary Hall for the Jakarta performance, for which three tons of varied instruments were flown into the country.

Sumber Ria provided two Avid Venue Profile digital consoles for the concert’s front of house and monitor mixing, while FOH reinforcement was handled by the venue’s permanent Meyer Sound system, comprising of long-throw DS-4P and MSL-4 loudspeakers. On-stage sound was delivered via RCF Art-500 and Meyer Sound MJF-212 speakers.
