Jands appointed Gator distributor

AUSTRALIA: Jands Pty Ltd has been appointed as the exclusive distributor of Gator Cases in Australia, and expects to be supplying its products later this month.
‘Gator is a perfect fit for Jands,’ said Paul Mulholland, Jands managing director. ‘I cannot think of a single Jands customer who would not purchase on a regular basis a product that could be supplied from the Gator catalogue. They are undoubtedly the world’s premier full range casing company, are totally committed to quality and have an aggressive product development strategy.’
Gator Cases’ traditional market in Australia has been in the retail sector, where Jands was already dealing with Gator for JBL OEM products. However Jands will now offer its range of specialist cases for the production market and racks and accessories for the contracting markets.
‘We look forward to both building on the considerable market share established by Music Link and finding new markets for the diverse range of protection cases,’ said market strategy manager Geoff Smith. ‘I expect Gator to quickly become a household name in Australia.’
‘When Jands first started purchasing JBL speaker carry bags many years ago we did not even know they were Gator,’ added Jeff Bolt, general manager of sales. ‘I remember everyone being surprised at how reasonable the price was for such great quality. A few years ago JBL decided it was best for their distributors to deal directly with Gator. It was only after we started dealing directly with them did we realise the depth of their product range.’
Gator Cases was founded in 2000 by father-daughter team Jerry Freed and Crystal Morris in Tampa, Florida, and initially offered moulded plastic guitar cases. The product line has since expanded to include case and bag solutions for pro audio, IT, A/V, general utility, band instrument, and percussion applications.
