Jason McCarrick to coordinate Meyer Sound education

WORLD: US-based manufacturer Meyer Sound has named Jason McCarrick as its new education programme coordinator, replacing Mac Johnson who has been promoted to constellation project manager. In his new role, Mr McCarrick will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating seminar and webinar events, handling programme logistics, and assisting in creating educational content.

Meyer Sound has been widely praised for its education efforts, having long provided a regular programme of seminars around the world plus an increasing amount of online activity including webinars. Mr McCarrick will work from the company’s Nashville office at Soundcheck, reporting to education manager Gavin Canaan. Alongside his core role he will also support Nashville-based manager and touring liaison Lee Moro in organising events within the US city.

A newcomer to Meyer Sound, Mr McCarrick is described by the company as possessing extensive experience in live sound and production including mixing and rigging the manufacturer’s systems on tours with Metallica, Celtic Woman, Rod Stewart, Cirque du Soleil and more.

‘Jason’s hands-on experience with Meyer Sound technology makes him a great candidate to represent the company,’ commented Gavin Canaan. ‘As we diversify our programme to include more online training and new educational topics, while adding more in-person seminars at Nashville Soundcheck, Jason will be a tremendous asset to the department and the audio community that we serve.’
