JBL pendant speakers installed in Gold Coast boarding school

AUSTRALIA: JBL’s control 67 pendant speakers have been used to tame a highly reverberant community area within a leading Anglican male boarding school on Australia’s Gold Coast. The loudspeakers were specified and installed by VideoPro education sales manager Dan Macready.
The Southport School (TSS), was originally founded in 1901, with the first boarders arriving in 1909. The school’s large dining hall has long served as a meeting place for those attending the school but when plans were laid out to install a large screen, projector and microphone system to aid presentations, it quickly became clear that a previous audio system had created reverberation problems.
Mr Macready chose the JBL hanging speakers – supplied by Jands – to confine audio and reduce echo within the space whilst providing a discrete solution. Custom fixings were constructed for mounting the speakers from the rafters of the hall.
