JBL Professional appoints Ted Harshberger as senior director

WORLD: Ted Harshberger has been appointed as senior director, global operations for the Harman Professional loudspeaker business unit, JBL Professional. ‘Ted’s experience and skills make him the ideal candidate to ensure our success in the international arena’ said Mark Ureda, vice president and general manager of JBL Professional.
In his new role, Mr Harshberger, who holds a doctorate in policy analysis from the Pardee Rand Graduate School, and who has published works on analysis and optimisation techniques, will be based in Harman’s Northridge, California facility and will report to Mr Ureda. Mr Harshberger will be responsible for optimising global loudspeaker operations and leveraging investments and resources across the US, Mexico, Brazil, China and Denmark.
Prior to JBL, Mr Harshberger held a series of leadership positions at the Rand Corporation, which ranged from roles in business operations to senior programme management. His most recent position was as corporate director, strategic development at Northrop Grumman Corporation, where he oversaw the company’s international growth strategy.

Elaborating on the newly created position, he continued: ‘Successful growth in these markets requires regional demand planning, cost-effective global production, optimised distribution and supply-chain networks and close-knit partnerships.’
