JBL blends into the surroundings at the Intercontinental Jakarta

INDONESIA: Strategically located in the heart of Jakarta’s Sudirman and Thamrin business district, the five-star InterContinental Hotel is continually reinventing itself by adopting the most current technology for its luxurious interior. The hotel lends itself to corporate events, conferences and weddings with an extensive array of meeting facilities, a luxury spa and modern fitness centre complemented by elegant guest rooms and stylish restaurants. CSA (Cipta Swara Anugrah) Indonesia was called upon to design, supply and install an outdoor speaker system that would create the required ambience.
Outside in the gardens in close proximity to its main downstairs piano bar, the hotel management recently decided to upgrade the open terrace setting. The result is tropical sophistication in an inner city with contemporary seating options, running water features and decorative elements. This winning combination entices guests and locals alike by offering tapas, light bites and drinks prepared by the hotel’s resident mixologist. Jazz-dance lounge music sets the mood under the stars.
Speaking of the newly-installed sound system, CSA’s Johannes Silaban explained: ‘In essence it’s a BGM system in the Jimbaran Gardens, but it’s quite well reinforced to enhance the vibe should the bar staff wish to do so.’
A combination of weatherproofed JBL Control 25AW speakers have been either wall mounted or suspended in the surrounding trees together with CBT50 LA-T columns, supplemented by Control SB-210 subwoofers. Powered by a combination of Crown CDi1000 and CDi2000 amplifiers, loudspeaker management has been delegated to a dbx Zonepro 640 allowing individual volume and source control to be made on three ZC8 zone controllers. Canare cabling has been channelled in the grounds between the amplifier rack and the speaker points.
