Jbn Sound Ceiling solves Gilligans noise complaints

AUSTRALIA: In response to complaints from neighbours regarding noise levels, the Cairns-based ‘party venue’ Gilligan’s has recently purchased a quantity of Jbn Sound Ceiling speaker tiles.

‘Inner city living is growing and you have to keep the community happy,’ said Anthony Brooks, Gilligan’s general manager. ‘However, we felt that we needed to increase the sound volume somehow. The guys at JVG Sound & Lighting showed us the Jbn Sound Ceiling and it looked like it would solve the problem,’ he explained.

Consequently, 68 sq-m of Jbn Sound Ceiling speaker tiles were installed above the venue’s outside area. The speaker tiles are mounted into three purpose built zones and the system is powered by JVG supplied amplifiers and processing.

‘Our Jbn Sound Ceiling serves its purpose and the sound is now very controlled,’ remarked Mr Brooks. ‘We’ve certainly cut down on complaints and that’s great. To install a Jbn Sound Ceiling isn’t cheap, but when you look at the big picture it’s certainly worth it,’ he assured.

The new Jbn Sound Ceiling has enabled Gilligan’s to increase its sound levels by significant amounts. For example, during the day the Jbn Sound Ceiling delivers an extra 4dB, between 10pm and 1am it rises to 13dB, before dropping to 1dB for between 1am and 5am.
