JPJ Audio’s Shure PSM 1000 used by Delta Goodrem

AUSTRALIA: Singer Delta Goodrem has made use of JPJ Audio’s Shure PSM 1000 personal monitor systems for her recent Australian shows. The company’s Shure equipment – distributed by Jands – has also been recently used by artists such as Pitbull, Macy Gray and Lady Antebellum.

JPJ supplied 14 Shure PSM 1000s, including a mix for the lighting director and video director who operate from FOH. ‘The Delta Goodrem live shows require high-end production with quality results,’ said Cam Elias, the singer’s monitor engineer. ‘In regards to the sound, it is essential that the nine-piece band is on in-ears, and the artist’s expectations are nothing less than perfection.

‘The RF signal has been rock solid every night so far,’ he added. ‘In total we have 24 radio systems including the UR series microphones and wireless instruments. Obviously the PSM 1000s are a huge leap forward from the 600/700 systems of old, and a neat step forward from the 900s. I give the stage techs packs in cue-mix mode so they can listen to whichever mix they want. They are very easy to use and the headphone amp sounds good. The scan, sync and wireless workbench integration features are very handy. Delta and the band are very happy – as am I – to have them on my spec.’

JPJ Audio is due to supply Shure PSM 1000s for various Australian concerts this year, including the Harvest Festival, Santigold, Ben Folds Five and Blondie.

‘The new PSM 1000s are extremely reliable and sound great according to many of our clients,’ added Jim Straw, JPJ Audio’s CEO. ‘It’s been a long time coming to get a new in-ear wireless product from Shure, but now that they’re here we couldn’t be happier with the quality and reliability. We are seeing PSM 1000s appearing on many international riders and as such we have purchased them to meet this demand.’
