JTS and Mackie deployed for India’s Kalimpong Television

INDIA: West Bengali cable broadcaster Kalimpong Television, or KTV, has been equipped with a range of equipment from JTS and Mackie following an upgrade of its technical facilities. The installation – intended to improve the quality of the station’s already highly respected local news programming – was conducted by Siliguri based systems integrator and distributor Sound Control.

Founded in 2004 by Narendra Tamang and now owned and operated by the not-for-profit Kalimpong Television Welfare Society, KTV delivers a mixture of news and entertainment programming to its audience in and around Kalimpong, in the district of Darjeeling. The broadcaster’s new equipment comprises a JTS US-8002 wireless system along with JTS CM204 omni-directional headsets to form the backbone of the station’s audio capture infrastructure. Meanwhile, a number of Mackie Thump 15 powered loudspeakers have been installed into the studio control room as the basis of its monitoring and feedback system.

With the purchase of the Mackie Thump15s, the station’s audio infrastructure is complete with truly world-class products.’
