K-array blends in with the Red Bull crowd

MALAYSIA: After an exhilarating Red Bull Air Race in the tropical heat of Putrajaya, Malaysia, the teams retreated for an after show party at Village Restaurant in the Pullman Hotel. Big A Productions were briefed to create an event that matched up to the spectacle of the race itself, situated in a unique beach style building that posed challenges for the sound engineers due to its peculiar height and shape.

Big A Productions’ Anthony Noel and his team required mobility, flexibility and performance from the audio system and after hearing K-array’s concert series in action, opted to use it for the after party.

Mr Noel chose a KR402 system, which includes the KMT21 subs and KP102 line array elements, for complete coverage of the room. The system was centralised in the middle of space alongside hi-tech artwork, and needed to be compact and discreet.

‘Mobility, weight and performance have always been an issue for us yet the Pythons addressed these issues with room to spare,’ explained Mr Noel. ‘Whether it is indoors or outdoors, headroom and sound quality are handled with ease. Having a reliable system on board is comforting for a sound engineer like me.’
