Karen Mok chooses Sennheiser for ‘Age of Moknificence’ tour

HONG KONG: Sennheiser has been supporting Karen Mok on her recent Age of Moknificence tour. The actress and singer has spent the last six months conducting the extensive tour to celebrate her 20th anniversary of performing on the live stage. Sennheiser has been supporting the tour since December through the provision of microphone equipment.
Described as one of Asia’s leading artists, Ms Mok first launched her career in Hong Kong in 1993 with the Cantopop album, Karen. She swiftly became a major name after working in several high-profile films that led to her winning a raft of Hong Kong Film and Golden Melody Awards. She is also highly regarded globally for her work supporting human and animal rights, making her ‘an important role model for an entire new generation of Chinese music fans’.
‘Working alongside Karen Mok has been a joy and honour for our team here in China,’ said Marc Vincent, president of Sennheiser Greater China. ‘She is a phenomenally talented artist and we have been very pleased to see our microphones used on this highly-anticipated tour.’
The Age of Moknificence tour showcases songs from Ms Mok’s most recent album, which fuses jazz with Chinese instrumentation set to a ‘stunningly elegant‘ stage show. Soon after setting out on tour, her team decided to switch to Sennheiser microphones – reportedly impressed by the sound they produced.
‘The sound is so great from the PA system,’ said Toshiyuki Ikai, the tour’s FOH engineer. ‘The MD5235 capsule with the SKM5200ll is absolutely perfect for her voice,’ added tour monitor engineer, Lo Chi Yuen.
