SNL Pro supports Arijit Singh in Mumbai

INDIA: Arijit Singh’s recent sold out concert at the Dome NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai was powered by a FOH system from L-Acoustics. Local rental house Sound and Light Professionals (SNL Pro) was tasked with providing audio coverage in the ‘extremely complex acoustic environment’. Prior to the concert, SNL Pro embarked on several weeks of detailed planning, mapping and testing in addition to fitting the Dome’s ceiling with fabric draping to improve acoustics.

The resulting design featured two main hangs consisting of 10 L-Acoustics K1 elements with three Kara for downfill, in addition to two delay hangs comprising of six K1 cabinets, two flown stacks of six Kara for downfill and 115XT speakers providing stage monitoring. Two stacks of SB28 subwoofers in a cardioid pattern provided low-end support. The entire system was controlled and monitored using LA Network Manager.

The FOH consoles included a Soundcraft Vi6 and Vi 3000, with an additional Vi3000 reserved as a backup. Meanwhile on stage, Soundcraft Vi6 and Vi1 consoles were used to capture all 152 inputs and outputs, which were also recorded onto an RME Madi interface for future postproduction. All instruments on stage were miked individually and musicians used both wired and wireless IEMs with Sennheiser headphones to keep noise levels on stage to a minimum.

‘Client contentment has been the biggest acclaim we have won so far, and we believe no recognition can equate the same gratification,’ commented Manish Mavani, director of Sound and Light Professionals. ‘Our disparate assortment of products with boundless options will leave little to the imagination of even an ardent sound fanatic.’
