LaON delivers come rain or shine

TAIWAN: LaON LT750 audio transmission systems and RBS25 repeaters were utilised recently during the annual ceremony held in the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the square outside, celebrating Buddha’s birthday, Mother’s day and Tzu Chi day, all of which fall on the same day. Infinity Multimedia Production supported the event’s crew by providing the wireless communications solution.
A BS750 Base Station was deployed at the OB van, while six RBS25 repeaters were initially trialled in the square for the rehearsal, to check the coverage. It was discovered during the rehearsal day that due to a wide overlapping area, only two repeaters were required to provide sufficient coverage.
The ceremony is reportedly very challenging, occupying a large open space with a large attendance as well as sizeable number of crew wearing beltpacks. In addition, the event’s environment proved to be ever unpredictable with heavy rain, thunder and lightning striking during the day. In spite of this, the LaON wireless intercom system was described as demonstrating no problems under the conditions.
‘In the case of these large scale outdoor events, it is important to figure out how many repeaters are required, where to locate them, the heights for installation and the direction of antennas for smooth roaming operations between stations,’ explained LaON Technology Co’s overseas sales and marketing manager, Miyoun Park. ‘The LaON LT750 provides the flexibility to reset the number of repeaters. Having successfully pulled off what was required for this big event, Infinity will have gained a better understanding of the features on the LaON 5GHz intercom and how to fully optimise them.
