LaON rings in the New Year

CHINA: LaON technology’s 5GHz wireless intercom systems were called upon to support Chinese New Year’s Eve programming in Beijing and Nanjing. Stef Liu at NDT (New Digital Technology Holdings Ltd) provided the technical support and consultation required for both events.
The system selected in Beijing was deployed at the 18,000-capacity China Indoor National Stadium to support critical communications at Hunan TV’s New Year’s Eve concert. ‘When it comes to a large live show, it is a major concern for the directors to secure a reliable wireless communication system and solution for congested sites. They should not compromise on stable audio quality, and not allow breakups or dropouts during the live broadcasting,’ offered LaON Technology’s Miyoun Park. ‘Hunan TV’s main directors group decided to use LaON LT550 intercom for their critical communications during the show. They installed the rack type BS550 Base Station in the OB van and five RBS25 repeaters in the stadium. They confirmed that the entire stadium was covered safely while allowing enough overlapping areas.
‘For all the BP550 beltpacks, they have set the hands off sensibility level selection to “high” to support timely and seamless roaming between RBS25 repeaters,’ she continued. ‘After having an amazing experience with the LaON system during rehearsals, they also increased the number of beltpack users up to 32.’
An LT250 system was also deployed for the JiangSu TV New Year’s Eve concert taking place at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre, however just one RBS25 repeater was reportedly enough to cover the entire stadium.
Finally, the manufacturer’s LT550 system with RBS25 scalable repeaters was also selected to support the recent SBS Awards Festival held at COEX in Seoul, as it did previously in 2014.
