LaON Technology supports Universiade Gwangju 2015

KOREA: LaON Technology’s 5Ghz intercom system was used to support wireless communications at Universiade Gwangju 2015 in Korea. National broadcaster, Korean Broadcasting Systems (KBS), selected LaON’s LT5550 Expert system and RBS25 base repeater to support broadcast operations at the International Broadcasting Center (IBC). Local broadcaster, Kwangju Broadcasting Company (KBC) also selected the same system to support communications during the swimming and diving events that took place at Nambu University International Aquatics Center.

At the Aquatics Center, the LaON BS5500 Base Station was installed in the main control room and linked with a wired intercom system and the RBS25 IP-based repeater located inside the arena – which was reportedly good enough to cover the required range without interference. KBC was also reportedly able to use the system in two modes, ‘as a full-duplex wireless intercom and IFB mode in one.’ Various LaON headsets, including in-ears, were distributed to the producer, announcers, commentators and cameramen. The manufacturer reports that users expressed satisfaction at the interference-free and high-quality audio performance of the system.

‘The users will definitely enjoy the advantages offered by LaON products by actually using the system,’ said a spokesperson from LaON Technology. ‘We trust that KBS and KBC both enjoyed pleasant communication experiences.’
