Latest Taj group opening in Chennai installs QSC

INDIA: Close to 100 QSC AD-C42T-WH ceiling speakers, in addition to other models, have been installed by contractor Pro Lumens and Decibels into the new Taj Gateway in Chennai, the latest opening in the city by the luxury hotel group. Distributor ProVA supplied the bulk of the audio equipment for the hotel, which also includes Audio Technica microphone systems.
A team of six technicians, plus team leader Mr R Prabhu from PLD, worked for three months to manage and complete the project. Their brief was to provide background music throughout the common areas, with audio video integration in the banquet hall, which can be used for meetings, presentations and parties.
20 QSC AD-C42T-WH ceiling speakers, powered by QSC IAS 300TI amps, have been installed into the banquet hall, along with QSC DSP322ua control and Audio Technica handheld and gooseneck mics.
The main restaurant has been installed with eight AD-C42T-WH, powered by a QSC RMX850 amp, along with an Audio Technica ATM410 wireless mic system, Mackie 402VLZ3 mixer. A second restaurant has a similar installation of eight AD-C42T-WHs, this time powered by a QSC GX3 amp, with an Audio Technica ATW701 wireless mic system and Mackie 402VLZ3 mixer.
Three conference rooms have been installed with AD-C42T-WHs powered by QSC GX3s with Biamp AudiaSOLO DSP and Audio Technica U851R table top mics. A punchier sound system was chosen for the gym - an indoor/outdoor monitor system of six QSC AD-S52T-BK powered by a QSC RMX850 amp. AD-S52T-BKs have also been used for the audio system in the basement car parks, again powered by QSC RMX850 amps.
PLD also supplied and installed a range of Extron switchers, Crestron control panels and video equipment including Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and Liberty models.
‘I worked with ProVA and PLD on the project from the very beginning, throughout execution of the whole job,’ said Mr S Yuvaraj, services manager at the Taj Gateway. ‘They were very good to work with, finishing on schedule, and we’ve had good support from them.
