Lawo Group names Stefan Ledergerber director of RampD
Published: ASIA
WORLD: Lawo Group has appointed Stefan Ledergerber as its first director of research & development, the same title that the industry veteran held within Harman Professional’s Soundcraft Studer. The new position will see Mr Ledergerber assume responsibility for the coordination of R&D across all of Lawo’s facilities.
Mr Ledergerber is described by Lawo as ‘the ideal candidate for this role’, while his appointment – formally announced at IBC 2011 – sees him bring considerable experience to his new employer.
Holding diplomas in Electrical Engineering and Management, Technology and Economics, his career in professional audio has been characterised by his association with the Studer brand. He was originally employed as a hardware development engineer for Studer Professional Audio GmbH before becoming product manager for the Vista range of consoles and ultimately director of research & development for Soundcraft Studer.
In his new role he is expected to ‘network with all individual Lawo development locations and technology partners, and advance the communication of the group’. The appointment follows a period of expansion for Lawo during which the company has sought to increase the skill-set within its development teams at several locations. The latest example is the newly founded LES Switzerland GmbH in Zurich, which has existed since September 1st.
Commenting on his position, Mr Ledergerber said: ‘I am looking forward to working with the exciting and experienced colleagues of Lawo. With innovative and high-quality products and solutions, Lawo has proved for decades that this company enjoys an excellent reputation amongst the mixing console manufacturers and deservedly so.’
