LAX appoints Galactic Music as Australian distribution partner

AUSTRALIA: LAX has appointed Galactic Music as its Australian distributor. The initial shipment of LAX equipment to Galactic was subjected to rigorous testing at the hands of Kosmic XPD, a division of Galactic’s sister company, Kosmic Electronic Industries.
Kosmic XPD’s expertise in commercial sound reinforcement installations was said to be ‘crucial’ in overcoming the challenge of launching an unknown Chinese audio brand into the Australian market.
‘After almost 20 years in the domestic market, LAX is ready to go global with a young energetic distributor with a solid understanding of the professional audio market,’ commented Ken Lau, international affairs director at LAX.
Paul Goldsmith, Galactic Music’s managing director, first visited the LAX factory in Panyu last year and was impressed by the quality of the product. ‘Although I’ve visited many Chinese factories, what I saw at LAX was nothing short of amazing,’ he enthused. ‘Their modern and efficient manufacturing facility, plus their investment in the largest anechoic chamber in Asia, puts LAX in a class of their own.’
The 500-seat theatre at St Marys Anglican Girls’ School in Perth was the first venue to install an LAX system, and a similar line array system was also installed into the Methodist Ladies’ College 700-seat auditorium for DrumScene Live.
‘We were so impressed by the LAX system that we convinced school management to purchase the complete system,’ said MLC theatre manager, Adrian Arnold.
Galactic Music will take LAX on the road in 2013 as part of the CX road show to present the products to the Australian market.
