Less equals more with Palmer’s multichannel DI

Limiting the cost implication of providing individual DI boxes to multiple artists and musicians, Adam Hall brand Palmer has developed the Pan 16 multi-channel passive DI rack, offering 16 inputs for use both in the studio and on the stage.
Available in a 1U rackmount steel enclosure, the Pan 16 is only an 8-channel device but is capable off accepting 16 inputs as a result of its integrated Merge function. It switches the parallel output of a channel to be an additional input and sums both signals to mono. The enclosure also houses two Pad switches allowing users to select between 10, 20 or 30dB of signal attenuation. A ground lift switch disconnects the ground feed to prevent loops.
Connections on the Pan 16 include XLR outputs for each channel, electrically isolated and balanced by a transformer. They are equipped with eight additional parallel ¼-inch outputs arranged on the device’s back panel.
