ASIA: The continuing roll-out across Asia of Electro-Voice’s Live X range of portable powered and passive enclosures has seen two more launch events take place, this time in Jakarta and Bangkok. The product introduction days follow similar events in India, China and elsewhere.
The Jakarta launch –organised in conjunction with Bosch Security Certified Partner (BSCP), PT Infinite Audio Media – took place in early June within the classical grand ballroom of the Peninsula Hotel. More than 200 people were invited to attend, including Bosch partners, members of the pro audio and broadcast industries, and press. The host and MC for the day was well known actress Sophie Navita, while popular Indonesian band Pongky Barata also performed.
Speaking on behalf of Bosch, meanwhile, were Ong Kah Seong, general manager of Bosch Security Systems Indonesia, King Hartono, sales manager for Bosch Communications Systems Indonesia, and Johannes Huth, director of product marketing communications Asia Pacific, who announced the sales growth for Asia Pacific region. Patrick Hau, product marketing manager for the Asia Pacific region conducted demonstrations of the Live X range.
Less than a month later, the Centerpoint Studio Lasalle in Bangkok played host to 300 attendees for the Thailand Live X launch. Designed around the concept of a small scale concert and bar, the event was intended as a relaxed affair with Surasri Ittikhul, a prominent singer in Thailand, performing with an orchestra through ELX215 and SUB118 enclosures. Demonstrated alongside Live X was the RE320 microphone and installation loudspeakers from the EV-Innovation range.
Rock group The Sun Band closed the evening, which was attended by a mixture of dealers, sound engineers, musicians, end-users and journalists.
