Loud Technologies and CMI officially launch partnership

AUSTRALIA: Loud Technologies and CMI have officially launched their partnership in Australia with an event that was attended by over 60 key dealers from across the country.

Run in a creative ‘talk show’ format, the launch was led by Graeme Mitchell, CMI sales director, with assistance from John Boudreau, senior vice president of product marketing, Ampeg and Mackie. Five TV screens were staggered throughout the audience with multiple cameras so that attendees could watch the event as if it were a talk show in a TV studio.

The talk show room was powered by a Mackie DL1608 mixer, and used DLM8 powered loudspeakers with DLM12 subwoofers. The talk show format was followed by a range of product demonstrations across the Mackie range, including the brand’s HDA active array speaker and HD1801 subwoofers.

‘It was a significant moment in Loud’s history in the Australian market and marked the beginning of a new and powerful partnership,’ said Rohan Smith, director of APAC sales, Ampeg and Mackie. ‘Loud Technologies is proud to be partnering with and supporting CMI, who is widely recognised as a distribution powerhouse in the Australian music industry, and is a company so well connected in both the music retail and SI markets. We congratulate CMI for executing a truly remarkable and engaging event and look forward to success over the coming years.’

‘We are proud to be representing an iconic brand such as Mackie,’ said CMI’s Peter Trojkovic. ‘The recent release of the DL1608 and the DLM range of speakers show that the Mackie brand and the people behind it are just as innovative as ever. We look forward to a long and successful relationship.

‘Our recent ‘Post Big Bang’ event was an opportunity for us to launch Mackie and Ampeg to retailers that would have not previously considered stocking these products,’ he explained. ‘This event gave us the opportunity to candidly discuss the massive changes the Australian music industry is facing with the downfall of the largest MI retail chain and independent wholesaler in the country: Allans, Billy Hydes & Music Link. This group of retailers reportedly represented some A$100 million worth of sales per year, and wholesalers and independent retailers are now challenged with capturing as much of these sales as possible.’
