WORLD: Luke Jenks has been promoted to the newly created position of Meyer Sound director of product management. Having previously served the company as loudspeaker product manager, he will now represent the manufacturer’s full range of solutions from loudspeakers to show control, system optimisation, and passive and active acoustic systems.
‘Luke is intimately familiar with our products at all levels, but more importantly, he has served as the important bridge between customers and engineering to help translate the needs and challenges on the ground into practical and complete solutions,' said Helen Meyer, Meyer Sound executive vice president. ‘There is no better suited candidate than Luke to help drive our product strategy and ensure customer success throughout the product lifecycle.’
As director of product management, Mr Jenks is responsible for defining market needs, articulating customer requirements, and representing customer feedback throughout the lifecycle of a product. He also assumes direction of a newly formed product management team encompassing market requirement definition, new product introductions, and technical documentation. The team includes Richard Bugg, audio show control product manager, Todd Meier, digital products manager, Greg Thomas, technical writer, and Rong Wang, new product introduction technical project manager.
Mr Jenks began his career at Meyer Sound in 1989 working as an engineering technician and technical support associate. He was later appointed as director of European technical support. As loudspeaker product manager since 2010, he was principally responsible for launching the company’s Leo and Lyon line-array systems and the 1100-LFC low-frequency control element.
‘Meyer Sound has never been afraid to disrupt the status quo, and we are fortunate to be able to do this with the input of our many talented users who push the envelope of sound in all types of environments,’ said Mr Jenks. ‘As we work on advancing next-generation linear systems and low-frequency technology, now is a more exciting time than ever to work here. I look forward to helping deliver more cutting-edge solutions for our customers' projects.’
