Major Adamson sale to Dhawan Stagecrafts

INDIA: An Adamson reinforcement rig has been purchased by New Dehli live events specialist Dhawan Stagecraft Pvt Ltd, with company director Sandeep Dhawan having already used the new system on a nine-day festival in Gujurat which reportedly attracted between 50,000 to 80,000 people each day.
The system – supplied by Adamson’s Indian distributor Rivera International following a jointly-hosted workshop – comprises 36 Y-10K line array elements plus eight double 21-inch T-21 subwoofers and a further eight Spektrix enclosures.
The purchase marks the first time that Dhawan Stagecraft has opted to use Adamson. The company – boasting more than five decades in the industry including a six-year stint as a Meyer Sound distributor – already boasts considerable stock including Meyer Sound MSL-4 and MTS-4 enclosures plus 750P subs, EAW KF-650 line arrays with SB-1000 subs, and Lab.gruppen amplification with XTA processing. It was also the first company in India to acquire a Yamaha PM5D digital console for rental.
Commenting on the new Adamson system, Mr Dhawan was enthusiastic regarding his choice. ‘I have looked at good high end brands in the past few years but have realised that powered systems have their drawbacks, especially under the tough conditions in India. Adamson’s advantage is its use of Kevlar and its patented waveguide for long throw, both of which were instrumental in my decision.’
Regarding the Adamson system’s first outing, Mr Dhawan added: ‘When I first used them for one of the biggest and most important events in India I was pleased with the quality of sound, the throw and the area the system covered. They were not harsh to the ears, and the sound was crisp and sweet at the same time, yet there was no compromise on the SPL levels.’
