Manila’s biggest nightclub chooses dBTechnologies

PHILIPPINES: Valkyrie nightclub in Manila opened its doors recently, boasting a brand new line array from Italian manufacturer dBTechnologies. With high hopes for the new venue, and demanding requirements placed on the sound system, owner Erik Cua and partners opted to set up a loudspeaker ‘shoot out’ comparing solutions from four different manufacturers. dBTechnologies’ DVA T8 systems was selected to power the dancefloor area by HX Pro technical consultant and club partner, Rex Maliuanag.
‘We choose DVA for several reasons,’ explained Mr Maliuanag. ‘The DVA T8 system had both an appropriate SPL and design for club applications. It is also a lightweight yet very powerful system, and very easy to install. Finally, dBTechnologies’ DVA T8 fitted our budget, and meant that we could afford to add more T8 and S30 for the outdoor club.’
The set up for the main dancefloor includes L-R hangs comprising eight DVA T8 enclosures per side and four S1518 N subwoofers –two per side. Four DVA T4 and four DVA S30 line the edge of the DJ booth as front fills. The future installation at the outdoor Pool Club will feature another 16 T8 modules and eight S30Ns.
‘As we closely monitored the installation at Valkyrie, we heard many positive comments about the system,’ commented Randy Asuncion of Vertek Pro, the manufacturer’s official distributor in the Philippines, who also supported the project. ‘We are very glad about that, since we believe DVA systems perfectly fit the needs of club applications and will be soon considered the best speakers for clubs.’
