Martin Audio adds to Asian distribution network

ASIA: Martin Audio has added three new distributors to its network in Asia with the aim of strengthening its distribution in the region. The new partners are based in Japan, China and The Philippines.

The first appointment is in the Japanese market, where Audiobrains will take over distribution responsibilities with immediate effect. Part of the MSI group of companies (MSI itself being the largest rental company in Japan), Audiobrains will represent the Martin Audio brand exclusively for all products, excluding cinema.

‘We are delighted to confirm this new relationship and are confident that with their extensive knowledge, great support structure and high profile in the Japanese market, Audiobrains is the right company to develop the brand,’ stated Martin Audio director of sales Simon Bull.

Meanwhile, Martin Audio has added to its distributors in its traditionally strong Chinese market. Building on the success of DCH and Hui Feng in the quality KTV and club markets, the manufacturer developed a more recent relationship with Beijing Instar Trading Co in the high-end cinema market. Now it has addressed the touring and commercial installation sectors with the appointment of Beijing Pacific Budee Technology.

‘This completes the jigsaw for us in China,’ said Mr Bull. ‘Budee is a young, technology driven organisation employing market specialists, with the expertise to carry the brand forward into these challenging markets.’

Finally in The Philippines, the manufacturer hopes the appointment of JB Music, will further strengthen its market position in South East Asia. Set up in November 1974 by sound engineer Jesus Songco Fernando and Elizabeth Salonga Fernando, the organisation remains wholly owned and managed by the couple and their children, and deals equally with MI retail and sole distribution of professional audio equipment.

‘These are exciting times for Martin Audio, but penetrating export markets in the Far East has never been more challenging,’ concluded Mr Bull. ‘We have invested carefully in this process and are confident that in the appointments of these new partners we will grow the business and increase the already impressive market share we have in these territories.’
