Medialon show control system used for worlds largest aquatic show

CHINA: ECA2 recently selected a Medialon Manager Pro Show Control system to control the audio, lighting, video, water, fire and air effects for a multimedia show named Mangrove Groove. Based in Oct Bay, Shenzhen, the 38-minute show was built around what is reported to be the world’s largest aquatic stage.
The Medialon system controlled and synchronised a Tascam X48 48-track hybrid hard disk digital workstation via LTC, and an internal audio player via a Medialon Local Media Player MxM.
The event’s A/V technicians were able to run and control the entire show using the Medialon system, which also included synchronising devices from Christie and Dataton for the visuals, and a lighting console from MA Lighting. The system also controlled two water screens, hundreds of water jets, five compressed air geysers, 14 flames, and five laser projectors.
The control system was specifically designed to show the A/V technicians the exact location of each device in use, and was programmed to immediately alert engineers if any faults developed mid-show. For a maximum reliability, two Medialon Manager units were deployed, creating a system that would switch automatically from unit A to B, or vice versa, if either system failed.
‘The Medialon show control system helped us to run, synchronise and to monitor hundreds of special effects,’ said Jean-Christope Canizares, ECA2’s CEO and show producer. ‘All of these devices interacted with more than 50 actors, acrobats and dancers, and it has proved to be a safe and reliable tool.’
The control system was designed and engineered by ECA2, installed by French integrator Adrem, and programmed by Julien Ribes from Artabase.
