Mega Sound invests in DiGiCo

INDIA: A DiGiCo SD10 and two D2 racks have become the latest tools in Indian rental company Mega Sound’s inventory, following the purchase from Hi-Tech Audio Systems PVT Ltd. Based in Ahmedabad and Udaipur, Mega Sound provides services ranging from live sound, DJ systems and stage lighting to conference setups, and has previously supported performances from artists including Kailash Kher, Arijit Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal & Shekhar, Salim Suileman, Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan.

‘We work across different applications and SD10 is the right addition to our existing stock,’ explained Mega Sound managing director, Siddharth Chauhan. ‘The medium frame console benefits from Stealth Digital Processing and, in conjunction with the new D2 Rack, can run at 96kHz sample rate. The D2-Rack delivered has 48 mic/line inputs and 32 outputs, all working at 24bit/96kHz. Connection to the D2-Rack is via BNC Madi – and this means more flexibility and expansion.’

Having been put to use recently for Salim Suleiman Show for an approximate crowd of 5,000 people, Mr Chauhan added that: ‘The entire system was simple to setup and it all worked perfectly. It is light to travel, fits into small venues and is priced great.’

‘SD10 is an amazing console to work with,’ concluded Rajan Gupta, managing director at Hi-Tech Audio Systems Pvt Ltd, DiGiCo’s Indian distributor. ‘The SD10 and D2 Rack combination provides a very important solution of splitting input channels and have independent head amp gain control for FOH and MOH application without using an analogue split snake system. Its flexible and clear approach has made it one of the most sought after digital consoles in the market today.’
