Meyer Sound China opens in Beijing

CHINA: Meyer Sound has incorporated Meyer Sound China, a wholly-owned subsidiary that will be officially launched on the opening day of the Palm Expo China exhibition this week. According to the manufacturer, the subsidiary will ‘strengthen its local focus and dedicated support for the audio community throughout China’.
Located in the Lufthansa Center within the Chaoyang District of Beijing, and set to be administrated by Meyer Sound executive director John McMahon, Meyer Sound China will count technical support specialist Therdore Huang and business communications specialist Cathy Tang amongst its staff.
However, all sales in China will continue to be handled by the brand’s distributor, Shanghai Broad Future Electro Technology Co Ltd, working in conjunction with the manufacturer’s director of international sales Mike Cooper. Industry education is expected to form part of the new office’s remit, alongside granting ‘local customers direct access to the US factory and its complete package of offerings’ including technical support.
‘While we take pride in our audio technology, it’s our emphasis on technical training for customers that sets us apart in the industry,’ declared Mr Cooper. ‘Setting up Meyer Sound China is a logical extension of our support structure.’
Mr McMahon added: ‘Opening the new corporate office in Beijing is a significant step in Meyer Sound’s commitment to better serve the regional market and expand our business footprint in a structured manner. We are very excited to leverage Meyer Sound’s technical expertise and resources to support the growth of the local audio industry.’
The decision follows a recent acceleration of Meyer Sound’s brand within China, with the company having recently deployed its largest ever Milo system into Beijing’s Bird’s Nest stadium (more details of which can be found in the next edition of Pro Audio Asia).
