AUSTRALIA: Melbourne-based distributor National Audio Systems (NAS) held a Pro Audio Partner meeting at the Sydney Opera House on the eve of the 2012 Integrate exhibition in Sydney. The all-day mix of education and entertainment welcomed 75 professionals from Australia, who were provided with highly informative seminars held by d&b audiotechnik’s Ralf Zuleeg, Midas’ Jason Kelly and David Claringbold from the Sydney Opera House.
Following a full tour of the facilities, which incorporated various d&b audiotechnik loudspeaker systems such as the J-series, and Midas digital consoles including the XL8, the partners were then guided onto a ship for a cruise of Sydney Harbour.
Sales and marketing director Chris Cumming explained that all the objectives of the exercise had been met. ‘We welcomed all our partners together at the same time in a terrific location,’ he enthused. ‘It was good for them to meet one another and for us to say thank you for their support over the years. The demonstrations of the Pro1 and Pro2 performance consoles and the new d&b CV-series were greatly appreciated.’
Having flown in from the UK specially for the occasion in addition to several days of training sessions, Mr Kelly confirmed that the initiative had been a big success: ‘The group of people that NAS drew from Australia and New Zealand for this event were extremely high calibre individuals,’ he confirmed. ‘It is rare that you can sit down and spend a whole day with such engineers – these are people who are keen to learn more. It was a really focused event and we have in turn been complimented for this. In my experience, not many distributors tend to invest like this anymore.’
Jasja van Andel, technical manager of the Melbourne Recital Theatre added: ‘It has been an amazing day. Not only have I learnt a lot, but I have also thoroughly enjoyed the day and evening in great company.’
